Russbach is far removed from the major flux of tourists, nestling between the Dachstein massif and Wolfgangsee, right in the centre of one of the loveliest landscapes in Austria, the Salzkammergut.

 It is in this unique landscape, some 50 kilometres south of the Mozart town of Salzburg, that ‘joie de vivre’, history, culture, cuisine and leisure activities converge harmoniously’.

In summer, the area is well known for its walking and mountainbiking facilities and for the Dachstein glacier of course. Also sports as paragliding are popular in the region. 

Rußbach has a nature pool with waterpark to cool down and relax on a hot summer day. Or you can visit one of the lakes of the Salzkammergut, not more than 30 min driving away. Here the temperature of the water increases to up to 25 degrees in summer. 

Rußbach is one of the villages directly connected to the Dachstein West skiing area. The ski lift is 700 m from the chalet. The skiing area has 142 km connected slopes and is a perfect family skiing area.  The area is also great for snowboarders, and cross country skiers will find many tracks in the valley of Gosau. There are also winter walking paths for those who prefer to enjoy the fresh winter air by foot.
